AAUW is soliciting original works of art for an art show and contest to be held at Central
Methodist Church, 3700 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, on Saturday, April 22, 2017.
Artist/Artwork Eligibility: Artists are required to be currently enrolled part or full time students at San Joaquin Delta College or University of the Pacific. Artwork should present your visual expression and reaction to issues of female empowerment, including but not limited to, activism, education, pay equity, violence against women, sexual harassment, gender stereotyping, intersectionality, non traditional roles and women’s leadership. Local, national and world perspectives, both historical and current, are all accepted.
Artist Bios and Artist Statements Please provide a short statement and bio with the delivery of your artwork. Include artist’s name and title of each work. If selected for the art show, please submit the statements for accepted work(s) in editable text format via e-mail by April 4th, to:

Pick Up Artwork — March 29

Artwork Presentation Requirements: Flat artwork on paper and photographs must be matted and ready to hang. Framed artwork or on canvas must be wired for hanging. 3-D work is limited to 6ft. in height and 3ft. in width. Film and video works are not accepted. Maximum of 5 works submitted per artist.
Cash Awards: 1st Place $200 / 2nd Place $150 / 3rd Place $100
Works for the art show and the awards will be selected by representatives from SJDC and UOP, and will be based on originality, creativity, technical skill and relevance to the theme. Selected works will be announced during pick up of artwork.
